The Rock River Fly Casters Consortium, NFP based in Rockford, Illinois.
We are a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization

Our members have one thing in common, fly fishing, but their interests cover everything in that category. Some of us like trout and travel for that, especially to the Driftless Zone in Southwest Wisconsin. Others enjoy the many opportunities closer to home, especially the Kishwaukee River. Some like lakes, either from the shore or from a boat. Some go out into Lake Michigan and some like to fish for salmon in the Wisconsin rivers that run into that lake. Some also contribute to the conservation of our water resources. All together, in different ways, we enjoy the friendship and opportunities that comes from our activities. Some of us tie their own flies, especially for meetings during the off season. At times we conduct classes for this. We have skilled members who love to pass on what they know. You can also learn how to cast a fly line and have other questions answered – from more than one point of view! New members of all skill levels are welcome, so if you want to learn about this sport and can make it to Rockford for meetings.

          Come join us!
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, All of our in person meeting are suspended untill the state changes the restrictions, Sorry

We meet at 7;00 PM on the second Thursday of every month at the District Three Police Administration building, at 557 South Newtowne Drive in the community center. There's a nice, large room with tables and chairs, and access to a large screen TV that we can use. The location is just off East State Street: from the intersection of Alpine and East State, head East. Turn right, going South at the third light. There's a Panino's on that corner. The building is down that drive, on the right. You can follow us on our Facebook Page at "Rock River Fly casters", we regularly post information on club events and activities, plus helpfull information on fly tying or fly fishing.
